Translated from the Russian manuscript by E. Melnichenko. MR 1383591 16. The relativistic Lippmann–Schwinger equation was earlier formulated in terms of the limit values of the corresponding resolvent. In the present paper, we write down the limit values of the resolvent in an explicit form, and so the relativistic Lippmann–Schwinger equation is presented as an integral equation. This book focuses on solving integral equations with difference kernels on finite intervals. The corresponding problem on the semiaxis was previously solved by N. Wiener-E. Hopf and by M.G. Krein. The problem on finite intervals, though significantly more difficult, may be solved using our method of operator identities. This book is based on the method of operator identities and related theory of S-nodes, both developed by Lev Sakhnovich. The notion of the transfer matrix function generated by the S-node plays an essential role. The authors present fundamental solutions of various important systems of differential equations using the transfer matrix function, that is, either directly in the form of the. Operator models of such type have many applications in the linear viscoelasticity theory, homogenization theory, heat conduction theory in media with memory, etc. References N.A. Rautian and V.V.
