Reoperations and salvage surgery after failures of primary reconstruction with both a gastric or colon conduit are even more challenging than primary procedures 8,12. A multidisciplinary approach involving the plastic surgeon or the head and neck surgeon together with the general and thoracic surgeon is required to provide expertise for the. Trauma reconstruction is beneficial for those who desire to have a normal or semi-normal appearance once again. More than one surgery might be needed before the final results are achieved. Common reasons why you might have trauma reconstruction surgery include car accidents, falls, and even domestic violence situations. ‘Pediatric Traumatology, Orthopaedics, and Reconstructive Surgery’, a scientific academic journal published four times a year since 2013. To date, only few reports exist regarding thrombosis caused by disorder of coagulant system in microvascular anastomosis. Here we report our 3 cases in which multiple thrombus formation occurred intraoperatively caused by decrease of antithrombin AT activity. AT activity was measured twice a day after. Dec 14, 2018 · Free fibular flap is one of the most useful methods in the hard tissue reconstruction of maxilla-mandible. It also provides a safe and successful bone graft for the reconstruction, along with a low rate of complication .Despite these advantages and the rarity of a postoperative complication, particularly in oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures, a prolonged operation might exhibit some.
Because we are board certified Ophthalmologists trained in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, we are the only specialty uniquely qualified to evaluate and reconstruct the eye, eyelids, eye socket and surrounding structures after trauma. Trauma to the eye, eyelids, orbit and facial bones can occur due to a myriad of causes. Lindsay Bartholome, MD Kristina W. Bermas, MD, FACS John Kizer, MD Jeffrey Perumean, MD Jeffrey Salomone, MD, FACS Julie L. Wynne, MD. Trauma surgery has increasingly become a specialized field inspired by different principles and philosophy. A good trauma surgeon is a surgeon who knows how to perform abdominal, vascular, thoracic, urologic, gynecologic, and orthopaedic procedures and is able to repair multiple traumatic injuries in the best sequence possible. acute care and trauma surgery, especially for younger surgeons, or any doctor or professional, approaching for the f irst time this discipline and the complex management of trauma patients.
Trauma & Reconstruction Surgery. Facial Laceration Repair. The first surgery to repair the palate usually occurs when the baby is between 6 and 12 months old. The initial surgery creates a functional palate, reduces the chances that fluid will develop in the middle ears, and aids in the proper development of the teeth and facial bones. Trauma Patient: Lower Lip Reconstruction After Dog-Bite. Before & After A complete examination by Dr. Jacono focuses on functional abnormalities e.g., facial weakness, disfunction of chewing or smiling, corneal exposure, etc.. INTRODUCTION. Plastic and reconstructive surgery plays a major role in the trauma services, especially in the reconstruction of head and neck, limbs, trunk and perineum when there is tissue loss, with a multidisciplinary approach. Plastic surgeons have undeniable involvement in the trauma management due to their indispensable quality of service, but this role is largely unrecognised. Purpose. To evaluate anterior-posterior knee laxity using two different autografts. Material-Methods. 40 patients, 34 males and 6 women, 17–54 years old mean: 31, were included in the present study. Group A 4SHS = 20 underwent reconstruction using four-strand hamstrings, and group B BPBT = 20 underwent reconstruction using bone-patellar tendon-bone autograft.
Our reconstructive surgery team restores form and function after an injury, tumor removal or congenital deformity repair. This team includes fellowship-trained trauma surgeons who routinely handle these complications. We offer expert care for malunions, nonunions and post-traumatic arthritis. Osteomyelitis following arthroscopically assisted anterior cruciate ligament ACL reconstruction has rarely been reported in the literature. We report a case of a 20-year-old female who had delayed tibial osteomyelitis and a pretibial cyst with culture-positive, oxacillin sensitive Staphylococcus epidermidis 15 months after an ACL reconstruction with hamstring autograft. The mean postoperative length of hospital stay was 12.9 days range, 4 to 41 days, with patients returning to full weight-bearing after a mean of 2.6 months range, 1 to 8 months. Conclusions: Microsurgical reconstruction of traumatic lower extremity defects in the pediatric population is safe.

Purpose. The purpose of this study was to determine whether intraoperative prereconstruction stability measurements and/or patient characteristics were associated with final knee stability after computer-assisted ACL reconstruction. Methods. This was a retrospective review of all patients who underwent computer-assisted single-bundle ACL reconstruction by a single surgeon. mastectomy 16 cases of rectus abdominis flap, 15 cases of latissimus dorsi flap, and 20 cases of tissue expansion were evaluated 6 months postoperatively. Shape, volume, and symmetry were quantitatively evaluated. Captured images of the normal breast were mirror-reversed and superimposed on images of the reconstructed breast. Differences in the generated Moire patterns were used to. Rupture of the pectoralis major tendon is considered an uncommon injury and a significant number of ruptures are missed or diagnosed late, leading to a chronic tear. We report an open reconstruction technique and its outcomes in a case of chronic and retracted PM tear. At the last follow-up 12 months, the patient was pain-free, with a visual analogic scale at 0 all the time.
